Pat Curren Victorious at Rincon Classic Invitational

Pat Curren, son of the legendary 3-time ASP World Champion Tom Curren, proved his roots run deep by taking the juniors division (15-17) title at the 30th Annual Rincon Classic, held at the infamous point break in Santa Barbara, CA. Curren surfed with smooth style, as he dismantled the competition assembled by locals only in the invitational format. The win meant something special to the 16 year old, "This was my first win at the Rincon classic," stated a humbled Curren, "The waves were clean, fun, and there was less pressure than a normal event, because I was surfing against my friends who live between Oxnard and Goleta." Look for Curren to continue his competitive success in the coming year as he begins his attack on the ASP Pro Junior circuit.
