WETSUIT WARRANTY POLICY*

  • 3 year warranty on all stitching
  • 12 month warranty on materials and construction
  • 12 month warranty on Aquaban liquid tape seams

*Valid from date of purchase with proof of purchase

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING:

  • Damage caused by anything other than defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Use in commercial, rental, teaching or instructional programs or activities.
  • Damage caused by extended or excessive exposure to sunlight, improper handling or storage, or failure to follow instruction provided with this product.
  • This product when classified as being 2nd hand or it is being sold as a 2nd (it is being sold as a product with existing defects).
  • Normal wear and tear, including scratches and fading.
  • Wetsuits repaired by other repair service.

WATCH WARRANTY POLICY*

Please remember that your Rip Curl Watch Warranty is void if the watch is opened by anyone other than the Rip Curl Service Center.

Five years on Movements from the date of purchase.

Note: A Movement is the part inside the Watch that makes it work, but it does not include the Crown, sometimes called the Winder.

Two years on Waterproof from the date of purchase.

Note: We recommend all Watches be serviced, resealed and tested for water resistance every two years as heat, temperature changes, salt and other elements will diminish waterproofness over time. Have this done at the Rip Curl Watch Service Center and we will then issue a new warranty for another two years.

One year on batteries from the date of purchase.

Note: Rip Curl's Service Center can replace all batteries and at the same time will reseal and test the watch functions and water resistance. We will then issue a new one year warranty on the new battery.

*All warranty claims MUST be sent with a purchase receipt clearly showing the purchase date. The warranty book is not proof of purchase without a purchase receipt. Eg. A purchase receipt is the cash register receipt or credit card statement clearly showing the purchase. Note: Rip Curl reserves the right to repair or replace, with an equivalent style, any warranty watch.

Not covered by any warranty is the glass, band and case. Also not covered is damage caused by general wear and tear or any accidental damage.

BAGS AND WALLET WARRANTY POLICY

The Rip Curl Bag and Wallet warranties cover the products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from original date of purchase when used under normal conditions and for the purpose intended. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by normal wear and tear, or unreasonable use or neglect. Please keep your receipt, as proof of purchase is required.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE:

Please enclose the completed return form with your name, telephone number, email address, return shipping address, a copy of the proof of purchase, and a brief description of the problem you are having. Our service center team will take it from there. If our team has any questions, we’ll be in touch 1-2 days after the product is received.

When sending in your product for service, we recommend using a trackable means of shipping such as UPS or FedEx. There is no need to call ahead for an authorization number or return approval.

*All warranty claims MUST be sent with a purchase receipt clearly showing the purchase date. The warranty book is not proof of purchase without a purchase receipt. Eg. A purchase receipt is the cash register receipt or credit card statement clearly showing the purchase.

Our technicians will prepare a work estimate and will email or call you with repair options and cost within 1-2 days of receiving your item.

How much does a battery cost? How do I pay?

A replacement battery costs $19.50 plus shipping and handling. Our service center will call or email for payment arrangements shortly after your product is received by Rip Curl, and a technician confirms final cost. All battery replacements include a reseal, pressure test, and one year warranty on workmanship and water resistance.

I need a new watch band. Can I order it from you?

Yes, our service center is well stocked with replacement watch bands. Please contact our service center by phone at (800) 842-2875 or email at service_center@ripcurl.com to place an order. Be ready with your watch in hand. We’ll need the five digit style code off the back of the watch (It should either start with the letter “A” or the number “1”. We’ll offer replacement band options and pricing at that time.

How do I send my Rip Curl product back for service?

Please send your item to the address below Attn: Service Center with your name, telephone number, email address, return shipping address, a copy of the proof of purchase, and a brief description of the problem you are having (typed or neatly printed please) and we will have a tech take a look at it. My backpack/luggage has broken. What are my options?

The warranty for bags is one year from the purchase date with proof of purchase. The return process is the same as wetsuits and watches. See above on obtaining Warranty / Non-Warranty Service.

Are my Rip Curl boardshorts / bikinis / clothing items under warranty?

Rip Curl doesn’t publish an expressed warranty on the garments we make. If you feel that a product that has been used under normal conditions has failed prematurely due to manufacturing fault or faulty materials, please refer to the return instructions. Our tech team will review the item for warranty consideration. Warranty status will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
