Tom Curren Rocks Out To Help Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort
Long Beach Island, NJ (August 15th, 2013): 3x ASP World Champ and iconic surf legend, Tom Curren, put his musical talents and heavy influence to good use on August 14. In front of a crowd of nearly 500 Long Beach Island, New Jersey fans, Tom performed live music to help raise much needed funds and awareness for the ongoing Hurricane Sandy Relief effort.
All proceeds raised went to the Waves For Water organization, which has been a pivotal force in getting the New Jersey coast back on its feet.
Additionally, this event served to celebrate the RESTORE THE CORE program, which Rip Curl launched this year as a partnership with Heritage, Farias, and Ocean Hut surf shops. By partnering on a limited production of Restore The Core product, the collection aimed to aid the three pillar surf accounts, while also raising additional funds for Waves For Water.
Rip Curl EVP, Rick Petri, presented a check for $2500 to Catherine Murphy from Waves For Water.
Rip Curl would like to thank all the partners that helped make this event happen: Jetty, Waves For Water, Heritage, Ocean Hut, and Faria's amongst others.
