Alys Barton’s Favorite Rip Curl Wetsuit for Winter

In an interview for SurfGirl, the 22-year-old Rip Curl team rider shares her favorite products for winter as well as tips for tackling cold surf conditions.

Her top pick? The wetsuit 5/4 Hooded Dawn Patrol! “It’s super warm, and I can stay in for multiple hours getting many waves and training as my daily basis,” says the Welsh surfer from Langland Bay in a video interview for SurfGirl.

When choosing a wetsuit, Alys emphasizes two key criteria: “I always go for a wetsuit that is super flexible and it’s going to give me warmth, which allows me to perform to my maximum in the water. And it also keeps me nice and toasty when it’s cold.”

Surf wetsuit 4/3 Ebomb

The British surfer finds the Dawn Patrol a perfect fit for all sizes, especially in its zipless version. “It’s really fitting on the waist and the legs, and it’s a super comfortable wetsuit to wear all year round.”

For slightly warmer weather, Alys turns to another favorite: the wetsuit 4/3 EBomb. “For the winter months, I tend to go for a 5/4 Hooded Women’s Dawn Patrol. It’s especially needed for back at home in Wales, but when we’re turning into the autumn months, and it gets a little warmer, I tend to jump into a 4/3, and the EBomb is about my favorite suit for that.”
