THE ROAD TO THE 2026 NATIONAL FINAL
Now in its 27th year, Rip Curl GromSearch continues to be a premier platform for surfers under 16—the next generation of talent pushing the sport forward.
Founded by Rip Curl legend Doug Warbrick in 1999, GromSearch was created to discover and develop young surfers at the grassroots level. Over the years, it has helped launch the careers of some of the sport’s biggest names, including Stephanie Gilmore, Caroline Marks, Gabriel Medina, Erin Brooks, and Mason Ho.
The 2026 North America GromSearch is proudly presented by Flexfit, with support from Sun Bum, YETI, FCS, Banzai Bowls, Ritual Vision, Hawaiian Airlines, and Lost Surfboards. Together, these brands share Rip Curl’s passion for surf culture and the development of young athletes, helping create an unforgettable experience throughout the series.
With all four qualifying events now complete, the stage is set for the 2026 Rip Curl GromSearch National Final, taking place October 8 at Atlantic Park Surf in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The top junior surfers from across North America will come together for the culmination of this year’s GromSearch series and battle for the 2026 National Titles.
Located just blocks from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Atlantic Park Surf provides a one-of-a-kind setting for the National Final, bringing the next generation of North America’s top surfers together in a controlled wave environment for an exciting conclusion to the 2026 GromSearch season.
