The Rip Curl Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational is an annual big-wave event, created to honor legendary lifeguard Eddie Aikau at Waimea Bay, on the famed North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. It is an event steeped in Hawaiian culture and fitting of one of Hawaii’s best known heroes. This season's Opening Ceremony will take place at Waimea Bay on December 3, 2026, officially kicking off the contest window.
