Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Australia

2019 ushers in the 58th year of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, the longest running event on the WSL World Championship Tour. The famous cliffs of the Bells Bowl amphitheatre holds a very special place in surfing folklore, and the iconic Bell trophy is one of the most sought after achievements in our sport. As the legend goes, “You’ve got to win it to ring it!”

Each year the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach waiting period includes the Easter Long Weekend, giving folks around the country the opportunity to take time off school and work, come to the small coastal town of Torquay and watch the world’s best surfers in one of the world’s best waves. The Road to Bells is a surfing pastime, and for decades competitors have taken their time driving the coast down to Victoria, paying homage to the rich surfing history en route.

Some of the wildest moments in surfing have gone down at Bells, including the retirement of 3x World Champion Mick Fanning in 2018. In the true fashion of a champ, Mick put on a show for the crowds and surfed all the way through to the Final round.

In 2019 the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach will be held for the best male and female surfers in the world from April 17 – April 27, on the best days of swell and condition within this date window.
