GromSearch Kicks Off this July in Huntington Beach!
The Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Banzai Bowls is back for its 22nd season!
After a year of digital entries, virtual judging, wave pools and more – the nation’s top junior surfers are heading back to the ocean. This season, the United States will be split into three main divisions – West Coast, East Coast and Hawaii.
We’ll be kicking the season off on July 10th at the Huntington Beach Pier for our West Coast qualifier before heading over to Kewalos on July 24th for our Hawaiian qualifier. We’ll then find our final surfers at NSB Inlet in Florida for our East Coast region qualifiers.
The four finalists from each division; 16 & under boys, 16 & under girls, 14 & under boys, and 12 & under boys, will be invited to compete in the National Final – being held on the famed cobblestone shores of Churches in San Clemente, California on October 17th. The 16 & under boys and girls National Champions will then win an all-expense paid trip to compete in the GromSearch International Final* – held at an undisclosed location along The Search.
This past May the Rip Curl GromSearch National Final took place on the perfect, man-made ramps of the BSR Surf Resort. After 8 months of postponements and an action-packed final, Rex Hennings, Owen Carter, Sawyer Lindblad and Taj Lindblad added their names to the famed GromSearch Winners list.
